Sergei Sudarikov is the main shareholder of Region Group, which includes banking, pension fund, insurance, brokerage and asset management companies.
Sudarikov began at Region in 1995 as a trader. In 2011, he and a group of partners bought the business from its founder.
Region bought several asset management businesses from state-owned oil firm Rosneft in 2011, helping it become one of Russia's largest investment groups.
In 2019, Sudarikov agreed to merge his assets with billionaire Roman Avdeev's Rossium concern, active in finance, real estate development and oil.
He bought Avdeev's stake and became owner of 93% of Rossium in 2024.
