Biography
Li Zhenguo is the chief executive of Longi Green Energy Technology, one of China's largest manufacturers of solar wafers and modules.
Li worked at a state-owned semiconductor factory before striking out on his own during the 1990s.
He cofounded Longi with two of his college friends in 2000, and named the company after Jiang Longji, the former headmaster of his alma mater Lanzhou University.
Today Longi has over 60,000 employees with production bases in China, Malaysia and Vietnam.
In 2023, the Shanghai-listed company announced a plan to raise $2.8 billion through an offering in Switzerland.
