Biography
László Szíjj is the cofounder and owner of Duna Aszfalt, a leading construction company for roads and bridges in Hungary.
Szijj bought out his former Duna partner and childhood friend, Károly Varga, to become sole owner of the business in 2019.
The business, which grew rapidly beginning in the mid 2000s on government contracts, has more recently looked outside of Hungary for growth, acquiring peer companies in Romania, the Czech Republic and Poland.
Szijj is also a business partner of Lőrinc Mészáros, Hungary's richest person, and owns two yachts where he has hosted several members of the Hungarian political and economic elite.
