Biography
Daniel Sundheim is chief investment officer of hedge fund D1 Capital Partners, which he founded in 2018.
The firm has around $31 billion in assets under management, with the majority invested in private companies, including a large SpaceX stake.
D1 Capital's public and private portfolios both returned more than 30% in 2025, reaching new highs to recover from losses in 2021 and 2022.
Sundheim graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and spent 15 years working under billionaire Andreas Halvorsen at Viking Global Investors.
