Mol is the founder, CEO, and a large shareholder of Dutch payment service provider Mollie.
The unicorn raised an $800 million Series C round in 2021 at a valuation of $6.5 billion.
But it was valued at just over $2 billion in late 2025 after it agreed to acquire fintech company GoCardless in an all-stock deal.
Mol was never interested in school and began programming at the age of 14.
He is also the cofounder of cloud communications company MessageBird, and runs a family investment office called Spacetime.
